Quinta Velha das Amoreiras is located at Ribeira das Tainhas, Concelho de Vila Franca do Campo, covering an area of 2.6 hectares, which extends all the way to the sea.

The entrance features a coat of arms made from solid rock, given to Captain-Major João Francisco Pacheco de Bettencourt in 1766. According to historical sources, Quinta Velha has been in the hands of the same family since 1755, highlighting its strong heritage. It was previously largely composed of vineyards and orchards, supplemented with greenhouses to produce pineapples, which are still in operation.

In the 1960s, the vineyards were progressively replaced with bananas and other produce as economic conditions evolved, resulting in the abandonment of the cellar and alembic. These two buildings have now been fully restored and improved in order to offer the highest quality rural tourism facilities: Casa do Alambique, Casa do Lagar e Casa da Pipa, all with breathtaking views over the seaand the islet of Vila Franca do Campo.

There is a natural swimming pool located right by the shore, built with black volcanic rock and with direct access to the sea. There is another swimming pool, located by the houses above with a spectacular view over the ocean.

Quinta Velha das Amoreiras stays about 5 km away from Vila Franca do Campo. It is a rural farm which is distinguished by the access through its own fields to a natural swimming pool, right by the shore, embedded in the black volcanic rock, joining the peace of the countryside and the freshness of the sea.
It is located at the south coast, almost in the middle of S. Miguel, being a great spot for those who aim to visit the entire Island, finding the perfect place to relax after the adventures to discover all our natural beauties.
